The idea of the ZE7A Leader of the Month, is to encourage & grow our capacity to lead on the battlefield.
Each month, a different leader gets to raise his or her hand & assume responsibility for providing as many squads and platoons for ZE7A and public players.
We expect each Leader to bring their own flavour to the field, and for other leaders within the Outfit to pick up different strategies & styles of Leadership by observing others.
Being leader of the month will help you to improve your own skills and get recognized by your outfit members. It is a temporary opportunity to gain points for a promotion and to get more involved in outfit activities. You will receive all the help you need to fulfill this task.
One of the rewards for taking on the Leader of the Month role, is to lead our serious ZE7A squads & platoons for an hour during Outfit Ops.
That’s an optional, not enforced ;-). Ops is serious, high-pressure, with lots of eyes on & high expectations from members. If you want to just try it for 20/30 minutes, an hour, the full 2 hours, all cool – let an Officer / Perx know.
You can also receive detailed feedback and suggestions if you wish during the debrief on your leading style, or any other questions you may have from more experienced leaders and players within the Outfit.
You will also be included in the Command Whisper List / Channel, for Platoon Lead, PL Deputy, Squad Leads etc, separate from general comms if you wish to get an idea of how Command functions at this level.
During your month, it is hoped and suggested (but not in anyway ‘expected‘ of you), that you will run a selection of public & outfit only squads, serious & casual, however you wish to experiment with Leading, Fireteams, Squad Composition & Comms setups.
See this page for a list of ideas previously voted on for Squad ideas, from the super-serious to the totally ridiculous…..;-)
“There are no expectations on the Leader except to lead. You do not have to be an elite general with finely waxed moustache to begin with – this is all about encouraging more experience for commanders.”
Goolezor’s already shown willing to lead a Zeta Platoon during Ops whilst under the microscope, and he performed admirably. Whatever squad types get experimented with, all experienced Veterans are on hand for advice, and all Zeta Members expected to support our Leader’s squads whenever requested.
Farfail is known for his preference for serious squad play, and willingness to be the tip of the spear on breaching. Whatever squad types get experimented with, all experienced Veterans are on hand for advice, and all Zeta Members expected to support our Leader’s squads whenever requested.
Swanko is putting the Fear into those filthy pink latex-lovin’ zealouts for July & August, and thwarting any tyrannical plans the TR had of putting us under their dirty red jackboots of oppression.
Expect regular Continent-Wide Liberation during this month, grateful locals running out of their bombed & ruined houses with flowers to welcome you after freeing them, and young women eager to give a brave soldier of freedom a kiss on the cheek for his efforts!
He’s also big on helping out newer players so we’ll be running an initiative or 2 to offer some advice as & when needed during his month of leadership.
PooEyes is bringing Leadership to the NC for June & July. A natural leader who has already done a great shift as an Officer for ZE7A, heavily involved in planning, recruitment, ZE7A training sessions & squad / platoon leading.
We’re looking forward to having Poo all over those filthy Vanu zealots & TR oppressors through the summer. Expect organisation from this man – squad composition & fireteams are his forte.
Darkflight FM (102.6) was on-air, and leading, throughout the month of May & June. Bringing you the smooth soul classics & off-beat jazz that only Darkflight can bring.
It was once suggested by an anonymous member of ZE7A, that Darkflight’s voice is so smooth, it sounds like he’s sat there playing in his girlfriend’s silken underwear. The ZE7A Ministry of Propaganda can neither confirm nor deny this.
Birniee was stroking his big shiny spawn beacon with all his might in April, and leading the macho YNCA to victory, complete with handlebar moustaches, safety helmets, chaps, and big manly workboots. We encouraged everyone to get right behind our leader of the month.
Birniee got blown up and killed in all sorts of ways looking at the map while out in the open – top leadership, right there!
Platinum has stepped up to be the inaugural ZE7A Unit Leader of the Month. Having already gained a lot of experience leading public platoons during his time before joining ZE7A, it will be interesting to see the style of Squad & Platoon leading brought to the table.
Platinum has a lot of experience in vehicles, is particularly effective in a Vanguard, and is keen to develop the combined-arms possibilities offered by Planetside 2, bringing the fight with a strong backbone of infantry, armour, troop transport on the ground & in the air, along with anti-vehicle & anti-air solutions.
